Gdynia, Poland

Postcard from Gdynia sent to me by Madzia050. It’s the prize from Kartolotek lottery on polish postcrossing forum. Honestly, it’s the best postcard from Poland i’ve ever recieved! It shows Sea Towers, President quay, a fishers pier and southern pier.

I’ve been to Gdynia once. My mothers family live there. My uncle is cargo ship Captain. He is leaving house for few monts few times a year. Aunt miss him badly but I’m really jealous about his work. I’ve seen his photos from whole world, it’s got to be an amazing adventure!

Gdynia is a city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland and an important seaport of Gdańsk Bay on the south coast of the Baltic Sea.

Located in Kashubia in Eastern Pomerania, Gdynia is part of a conurbation with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdańsk and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto), with a population of over a million people.

Mielno and Dzwirzyno, Poland

I recieved those postcards from my workmates.

Dźwirzyno is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kołobrzeg, within Kołobrzeg County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. The village has a population of 580.

Mielno is a large coastal village in Koszalin County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Mielno. The village has a population of 2,200.

Mielno is a well-known tourist destination with sandy beaches on the Baltic Sea coast. It lies on a spit between the sea and the large Jamno lake.

Zgon, Poland

Another postcard from memories box, i’ts because few days ago I visited my parents house, where lots of my stuff is still hidden in the attic. So I went to that gloomy, dark attic just to recall the good old days and during this, I found some old postcards.

I was in Zgon in 2006 I think but I’m not sure. It was  bicycle and canoe camp. Every night we slept on a different camping pitch in another town or village. In Zgon they had free advertising postcards so I took one to my memories box. I know I am quite sentimental 🙂
Description on the front of the postcard says „Zgon on the shore of Lake Mokre”.

Zgon is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Piecki, within Mrągowo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. The village has population of only 150!

Beskid Zywiecki, Poland

It’s another postcard from my private collection. I’m not sure how did I get it but I think that I bought it when my father took me on holiday to Żywiec in 2007. It’s one more souvenir from my memories box. I still remember that we stayed in Mega hotel, which is located on the shore of Lake Zywieckie so sight was stunning!

The range of the Beskid Zywiecki Mountains stretches between the valleys of the Sola River and the Skawa River. It borders on the Small Beskid and Beskid Makowski Mountains. After the Tatra Mountains, this is the highest range of Carpathian Mountains in Poland, with plants at different levels that are typical for high mountains. The highest peak is Babia Gora (1725 m).

Apart from its ecological importance, the region is great for recreational pursuits, open for anyone and including many hiking trails, skiing facilities and many other attractions. The best starting point to explore the Beskid Zywiecki is Zywiec, while other popular to visit villages and towns are Korbielow, Zawoja, Zwardon and Sucha Beskidzka (on the border with the Beskid Makowski).

Cracow, Poland

Unwritten and unstamped.

From my private collection. Honestly, I don’t remeber how I got it. I guess i bought it in museum when i was at trip in elementary school. It shows Christmas Crib from collection of The Ethnographic Museum in Cracow, Poland Handmade by Andrzej Morański in 1993. I think it’s delicate masterpiece. Beautiful!
